MEN’S STYLE TRENDS FOR SPRING/SUMMER 2021
Of course men also want to look good and up to date! Just look around, the same way some women care more about fashion or their personal appearance than others, there are men who care about how they present themselves to the world.
Before we get to what styles will be seen, just a few tips:
Men’s clothes too, need to be appropriate for their occupation and lifestyle- particularly if they are progressing through a career. They need to be dressed “right” for the industry they are in, and for the job they aspire to.
Men also should take into consideration their style personalities to put their personal stamp on any outfit. Many of today’s work environments are less formal and does not require a suit, but to show up like you would to a relaxed braai, is not acceptable.
Men also need to look like they belong in the 21st Century. Although men’s fashion does not change as much as women’s fashion, there are subtle changes that they should be aware of.
On to the trends for Summer 2021:
The seasonal colours with Pink at the forefront is seen in men’s fashion as well. From a full pink suit to pink T-shirts, shorts and shirts.
Waist coats are making a comeback and can be worn with a T-shirt as well.
Clothes in Pastel colours will be available everywhere.
Casual wear in soft materials will also be available in the fashion colours.
Jackets that look like shirts called SHACKETS, are lovely transition pieces to wear in cooler spring temperatures.
T-shirts, informal as well as formal button-down shirts are upgraded as well. Plain white T-shirts and shirts are always in style. Cool Graphic T-shirts are seen everywhere and can be worn with a jacket to style it up.
Jeans are always in style, but the trendy distressed jeans will appeal to the more fashion-conscious man. A straight leg denim in a dark rinse looks dressier than a lighter blue one.
Chinos are a go-to piece of clothing for most men and can also be dressed up or down.
Shorts in summer is a must have. From denim shorts to tailored shorts, the choices are plenty. Some guys will even wear a dressier tailored short with a jacket for a more formal look.
The wide variety of shoes makes it possible for everybody to find comfortable footwear for the season. With so many styles of trainers and other styles of informal shoes, men are spoilt for choice. Shoes are worn without socks or with invisible socks.
Just like any other trends, it is your choice to decide which, if any you would like to try. As you can see in the images, some trends are mostly how you style individual pieces together to achieve a certain look.
