THE CHERRY ON TOP: ACCESSORIES
Planning a minimal, good quality wardrobe, making use of accessories can help to make the basics look different every time or to dress it up or down. Carrie Bradshaw of Sex in the City philosophized: “Maybe the best any of us can do is not to quit, play the hand we’ve been given, and accessorize the outfit we’ve got.”
An accessory, big or small, can be the unique stamp on an outfit to make it your own. It could be a piece of jewellery or a bag you have inherited. Your signiture style could be always wearing a scarf or pearls. Anna Wintour, for example, always wears Swarovski necklaces and nude sandals. “Jewellery has the power to be this one little thing that can make you feel unique.” Jennie Kwon

European women like to wear scarves as accessories. Scarves are also great when travelling, because they weigh almost nothing and can be used in so many ways.
Iris Apfel’s signature style is wearing multiple dramatic accessories and she believes: “Jewellery is the most transformative thing you can wear.” and “Put your money into accessories. You could create a million different looks.”
What about an accessory you can’t even see? “Perfume is the unseen, unforgettable, ultimate accessory that heralds your arrival and prolongs your departure.” According to Madame Coco Chanel.

Vera Wang: “To me, eyewear goes way beyond being a prescription. It’s like makeup. It is the most incredible accessory. The shape (and colour) of a frame or the colour of lenses can change your whole appearance.”
What about a hat to give that extra punch to your outfit? Or for a practical reason as Julia Roberts believes: “I enjoy hats. And when one has filthy hair, that is a good accessory.”
Go find those hidden treasures unused in their boxes, scarves somewhere in a drawer, or buy some new ones and start playing.
